Elizabeth Howe
Elizabeth Howe believes in hard work, purposeful curiosity and saying YES. With 25 years of ski industry experience, she is known as a mountain operations expert and for having authentic and intuitive insight when it comes to leading in this environment.
Elizabeth served as the Vice President of Operations at Telluride Ski Resort and as the Senior Director of Mountain Operations at Vail Mountain. She was also honored to receive appointments to the Colorado Ski Country Operations Committee and the Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board. She maintains strong relationships with the United States Forest Service, National Ski Area Association and Colorado Ski Country organizations.
Having spent 25 years in operations, Elizabeth knows the business inside and out. She began her career as a lift operator and worked her way through many and varied operations and hospitality roles to Vice President of Resort Operations, where she supported Mountain, Resort, Golf and Club Operations and Ski and Ride School. At Vail Mountain she led ski patrol, snowmaking, grooming, lift operations, lift maintenance and fleet maintenance. Additionally, Elizabeth was an integral part of the team responsible for the planning, construction and operation of Epic Discovery at Vail, a joint project with the US Forest Service and Nature Conservancy from 2014 until its launch in June of 2016.
Elizabeth is a fierce leader and attributes her success to the teams she has been fortunate enough to work with. She encourages others to follow their passion, knowing no boundaries.
When not thinking about ski area operations, Elizabeth is enjoying nature in Colorado with her son Henry.
